7/1/12 Flashback India Style Brown Ale from Boulder Beer Company

Last night it felt like a Digiorno and Flashback India Style Brown Ale night. I have had a couple different types of beer from Boulder Beer Company so I thought that this style would go well with the heat from the buffalo chicken pizza I was having. It wasn't a bad combination considering this was my first IBA. In my opinion I didn't really notice a huge difference from an IPA other than the color. I had this beer at 45.7 degrees and it poured a large 3" head into my newly acquired Blue Moon pilsener glass. The head had a foamy light brown appearance with excellent lacing. The head dissipated slowly and the carbonation was soft. The clarity was normal with a ruby color. The aroma and taste were a mix of citrus and barley. The flavor was heavy and the finish was average with a dry mouth feel. The tongue hit was towards the middle with excellent body lacing. Overall I didn't notice any huge difference from most of the IPA's I have had in the past and didn't really taste all the notes that were described on the bottle but it may have been impacted by the heat of the buffalo sauce. Thanks for reading and as always drink responsibly.
