So it was Christmas night last night and I gave out a couple of my homemade variety packs so I figured I would work on finish rating the beers from the pack. My sister's boyfriend had
Mad Hatter IPA (available at
Brewer's Outlet in Pottsville) when I was up at my mom's house and sad it was good so I figured I would try it out. Now I haven't had an IPA since last summer or maybe longer. It was a Sam Adams and I wasn't a huge fan of it so I didn't have to high of expectations. I had my beer in a pilsner and it had a temperature of 39.1 degrees. The ABV was 5.35% and it had an average head of 2" with a foamy light brown appearance. The head dissipated slowly and it had excellent head lacing. The carbonation was soft and the clarity was normal with an orange color. The taste and aroma were a citrus smell and burnt and citrus taste. The flavor was moderate with a short finish length and a creamy mouth feel. the tongue hit was towards the front with excellent body lacing. Overall I would rate it an A- and definitely better than any IPA I've had before. It was a solid flavor and easy to drink. So thanks for reading and as always drink responsibly.
